    The description of the scene is incorrect. The hotel is the McCauley Mountain House, and it was not actually in Yosemite Valley, but at Glacier Point and overlooked the valley. The Glacier Point Hotel proper did not open until 1918. However, since this was the hotel at the time at Glacier Point, it was the ‘Glacier Point Hotel.’
